Just started using Mental Ray after 4 years of Vray and I can't seem to do a region render that shows the same lighting conditions as the full image render. I am using saved FG and GI maps, but still the region comes out darker. Is there something I am doing wrong or does Mental Ray not have the ability to do an accurate region render?

Are you using gamma correction? Are you saving the regions with gamma correction disabled? Maybe post some examples?

I am using gamma correction, but I am saving the regions the same way I save the full image, by hitting save from the rendered view window. Are you saying that you can successfully save a region and the lighting matches your previously rendered image?

wich software are you on?
probably there is some mismatch between your settings, if you use softimage check under preference the display gamma settings if applied to render regions and preview. |
