GeForce cards should be able to run CUDA. We use them for simulation work.
However, it looks like iRay was not included with Maya or Max. You will need Standalone for iRay.

CUDA is an API for using Nvidia GPUs, so any of the supported GPUs can be used by CUDA apps, such as iRay.

Hi Steve,
Thanks. Now I have some understanding what the situation is how the GPU can speed up the rendering. Before I was no sure is the GPU help the rendering or not in MR 3.8. Cheers, Tom
