    Default error

    Hi, I get this error on startup with the new ptex shader. Maya doesnt launch at all.

    errormaya2013x64win7.jpg

    I replaced the ptex.dll in Maya2013>bin and the ptex.mi in the Maya2013>mental ray.shaders>include. I used the ptex.dll from the nt-x64-vc10sp1 folder. Im on Maya2013 win7 x64 OS. Have I not put them in the right place?

    (Fortunately I kept backups of the original files and could restore maya to working order) Has anyone else had this happen?
    cheers
    Tony

    EDIT this is with Maya 2013 not SP1

    is this file necessary with the SP1 release? Not that I am using the SP1 release due to the weird texture map issue.

    Tony, our ptex library is located in mentalray/shaders/ptex.so
    Autodesk seems to have a library with a similar name, in lib/libPtex.so
    (so -> dll on windows).
    If you are using the Autodesk "maya_material_vector_displace" shader, the updated ptex.so should be used.

    Well replied sir, now works fine after suitable roadmap assistance. ( Autodesk also have a ptex.dll file in Maya2013>bin>) like replicating bunnies really,sigh.

    I am wondering the same thing? (And waiting for the new SP) Will the fix be rolled in and should we revert our settings in the registry?
