I tried to switch HT off, but it changes nothing.

Hi! I'd the same problem as Lextorlex. Updates installation for 3ds max 2013 doesn't help at all.

Updates for max didn't help me too... It seems nobody can tell why this could happen

Post the scene the crashes or if you can't do that at least provide the information that appears in the render message window as it's rendering, etc.. If no critical errors appear in the render message window and it crashes out of the blue then perhaps it's more of a hardware issue.

Hi Jeff, I told in the very first message what happens if I try to render with Iray. It crashes any scene, even an empty one: I run Max, switch to Iray as my default renderer, hit render button and max crashes. Before it crashes, by using print screen button, I had an oppotunity to save masseges from render message window:

So, I can't understand why there is a line about slave rendering if Iray can't even work with it? And by the way I have no blue screen crashes.

I remember reading an explanation for that issue on a forum but unfortunately that forum is gone now and I can't remember off the top of my head what the reason behind it was. Sorry, maybe one of the Dev's will chime in with that explanation. You're certain that the scene is not pushing the GPU beyond it's memory footprint?

All that being said, do you happen to have any self-illuminated materials in the scene that causes this error? If so, ensure the diffuse and reflectivity are both at 0.0 on those type materials. I think I vaguely remember having a scene that caused a similar problem and I had left the diffuse and reflectivity up on a SI material and that created the problem for that scene.

I have no clue why your would work in 2011 but not on 2013. Sounds like you've done everything I'd do, update drivers etc...For kicks, have you tried installing the CUDA toolkit? I've heard some people mention that doing so solved some issues for them. LINK: http://developer.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-downloads
