    Default final gather append mode only using one cpu!?

    Hi,

    When trying to bake out a final gather map, I noticed that when I switch to the Rebuild "Off" mode (Append) to add some more points to the fg map it only computes final gather points using one cpu?

    Is this a known issue?

    We are using Maya 2012 SAP.

    When switching back to Rebuild "On" it renders the pass using all the cpus.

    I didn't experience this originally with 3.9, it was the ballooning size that was troublesome.

    Have you tried the string option for: finalgather legacy, on

    Yeah have final gather legacy turned on.

    I will try it on another scene to see if can replicate it. If so then will send issue to Autodesk.

    I am using maya 2011 sub adv pack and having issue. Is there any fix available for this. Or can we do bake in 2012 (if fixed in 2012) and use it back in 2011 ?

    If I try on scene done with some default geos, fg render takes all cores. But if I try on some production files, only 15% cpu is utilised with FG in rebuild off mode.

    The problem is still current in maya 2012.

    Not sure if a fix will be possible for 2013 release. Maybe in a later hotfix.

    Have to see what the mr guys say.

    mental ray is an integrated product and not a separate plug-in/purchase so if it is fixed in a later version you would need to get the version of Maya it is integrated into. (In this case possibly Maya 2013)
