iray error: "all tags in use, database is full"

Hi,

I'm running a large iray job (thousands of frames) and after several hours, I get the following error:

DB 0.134fatal 041016: all tags in use, database is full

Any suggestions as to what might be causing this error?

Jamie, I assume you are running mental ray 3.9?

The message indicates that mental ray ran out of DB tags. mental ray 3.10 will get it better.
One one hand, we've fixed a bunch of small DB tag leaks.

On the other hand, the total number of allowed database tags was increased by about 100 times in mental ray 3.10 and in 3.9.4 (but not in 3.9.1/3.9.3).

For older versions, we'd recommend to re-start rendering after some frames.

Hi Juri - yep, I'm running 3.9.3. I'll see if I can upgrade, and can implement a work-around in the meantime.
