Hello,

don't you think it would be useful to add another forum section for users to post and share their works done in mental ray ? We could share also the workflows we used to achieve the results and i believe it would keep this forum a little more alive. Just an idea

There used to be one on Lamrug but apparently not a lot of submissions.

I think it would be better than nothing... The lamrug page sems really old... back then when mental ray did not even have portal lights... i am sure a lot has changed since then I see more and more users coming from Vray to MR... but if mental images wants to keep this userbase growth, they should really focus on important stuff (better FG interpolation scheme, better secondary indirect illumination algorithms) rather than placebo (slower then old solution) features, such as progressive rendering or unified sampling.

I think if we open a thread called Mentalimages User forum Gallery, after this bart or steve will be able to create a serious Section called Gallery. It's a start

I think that might work well actually.

It might also draw more people to this forum instead of just CGTalk where there is a lot more noise.

I would not separate it in further sections, only encourage users to write what package did they use. Redymh is right, that there wont be probably too much entries, so if there is going to be a few, they should be all in one section... otherwise it would look something like this:

Max: 6 threads

Maya: 4 threads

XSI: 0 threads



So i think better solution would be just:

Gallery: 10 threads

This is a good idea, and we are trying to check out even better ways to present gallery images in the forum. Planning to move the threads already started to a more clearly named sub-forum.
