    Default MRliquid and plug-ins

    hello,

I have a question about MRLiquid and plug-ins. My question is why realflow or syflex was not support or import in a sequence by MRLiquid, because in ipr mode, it translate at the frame in a good way, example you choose frame 100, and launch Liquid IPR and the result is good, but if you launch the translation of a sequence (I use Puppet's script to make my batch) with liquid, it translate only the first frame of the simulation (realflow mesher or syflex)...

WHY ? it's strange because if you export frame by frame (like frame 1, render, go to frame 2 render...) it work correctly, but it don't look if the mesh change during the scene translation.

    So I tried :

export mi file by frame = don't work

export in a single mi = don't work

    Are you an idea ?

PS : shave is not supported too...sniff

    Thanks

mmh... why do you need mrLiquid if you are rendering on
a standalone by exporting the scene in mi format ???

More quickly to export than maya2mr and bake geometry is really usefull in heavy scene

and also, a real ipr like XSI (realtime link between maya and MR standalone), the scene description is more rescent (*.mi2)... flexibility on the approximation editor that support more function than maya2mr, example the tagged approximation... etc... etc...

That's why I ask some question about it

If somebody have an idea, it'll be interesting.

This translator is very powerfull, all functions of maya it isn't supported yet... but resolve the problem for realflow and syflex is a way to open this project to more people.

    to mattMR:

Did you have try use 1 frame by *.mi
Latter I'll try simulation with mrLiquid...

no ok, there's no realtime links between anything in xsi.
renderregion just caches all the scene so you 'translate'
the whole scene if your lucky just one time at the beginning
of you session. while ipr in maya do the same but it is too
'ipr' to get a consistent way to work under raytraced scenes.
here mrLiquid comes to the real rescue. using mrLiquid in maya
is like using renderregion in xsi.. or well, almost like.

mhh. you're missing something here. these things can be added manually
with just a couple of lines if you're using the standalone via mi exporting.

    To Puppet:

yes I ever try to export 1 frame by *.mi with your script using the split mi files, and also I try to make export all (in maya / file /export all) select Mental to use liquid and set 1 frame by mi and it's not work... I'll retry to see if I missed something but normally no... but I'll retry to be sure. it's seem like it look for the first frame (exactly the active frame in timeline) and it forget the other, example if you go to frame 10, it convert your simulation at frame 10 and put it directly in the mi file as frame one. All dynamics from realflow (baked in curves) work good. For syflex, it the same trouble like realflow mesher only translate the active mesh at the active frame (I hope you'll understand what I said ) One of my friend created a dos script who use maya2mr to convert frame by frame in mi file to found a solution for an other trouble with maya2mr ( the trouble was a head was skin and in the render the head didn't move, so the solution was this script.). maybe it is a solution for this trouble but I don't know how to convert mi file with liquid in command prompt .

    To Ctrl_studio :

Oki it's not "realtime"... but it looks in realtime if your scene change and modify your cached mi file if change. but it's so flexible to check your lights and see "quickly" a result. I used XSI and the render region is, for me, better than maya IPR also, MRLiquid IPR support custom shaders refresh and maya ipr doesn't (what I say is what I tried). I'm not a programmer and for me I found liquid is in some way easier to use than maya2mr. For me I prefer use MRLiquid bake geometry than export in mi file, edit the mi file, put a box information, put an incremental...etc... In liquid one click and it's done. I just found in some ways is easier, for me, to managed my render/compositing workflow.

ps : very sorry for my English. I hope you'll be understand what I tried to say.
