    Default Ambient Scalar taken away?

    Hi,

Why is it that the Ambient Color and Scalar was removed from illumination phong. I did find a way to pick the ambient color though, using the "Scene Setting" but what about its intensity, how can I set/change that.

I used it alot just to get my whole scene a little bit lighter. But now I can't and my whole scene(on the non light side) looks to dark.

    Regards

Is there a specific reason why adjusting the color is not working for you? I totally understand that scaling your chosen color with a scalar value is much more convenient since you don't need to change the hue of your color. However, it depends where you're using your shader.
If you're using it inside your own game engine, you can easily implement your own multiplier that allows you to scale the scene ambient color before sending it to the shader.

Well, even if I use white for the "Ambient Color" the ambient intensity was not good enough so every thing still looks to dark on the non ligting side of an object. But I'll probably have to find another way to make my scene brighter now that I can't just cranck up the Ambient Intensity.

    Hi Ger83,

You're raising a good point here, that the color picker can't select values beyond 1.0 (or 255 respectively). This will be added to our to-do list.
Still I'd like to know where you're finally using your shader, because if you export a shader to FX Composer, for example, you can easily choose values greater than one. However, good point with the resticted ambient color value.

    Best Regards,
