hello,
I' am new on this site and I have only one question:
I use Auotcad 2011 and do all my renderings with this tool which include MR.
I'm looking for information about mr inside of autocad, so that i can better understand all the functions and possibilitys.
In Autocad 2011 I use the menu which are attached.
Is there somebody who can "translate" the mr world on this menues?
thanks

Well, I know this post is a year old but I'll just say a few things for anyone who stumbles across this with the same question.
1) The images are in German so if you don't speak German don't bother opening it.
2) The render settings in AutoCAD haven't really changed since 2008 (possibly 2007). The only addition Mental Ray in AutoCAD has is a slight less "plastic" look to everything in 2011 & 2012. But you don't get any additional controls with the addition of Mental Ray.
3) 85% of the time you only need to worry about the presets drop down box (Draft, Low, Medium, High, Presentation). Just note that, for external renders: Sky Background & Illumination (bounced light from particles in the atmosphere) effects won't show below the medium preset, and for internal renders: Global Illumination (bounced light from surfaces) effects won't show below medium. Put enough work into setting up your lights and materials and you won't need to worry about the settings in the Advanced Render Settings palette. Unless you're rendering professionally, in which case you should be using 3ds Max for rendering so you can control rendering times precisely (within reason).
