My first question is, how do you get the colors of the lights in your shader to be controlled by the lights in your 3d application. I use 3dsmax 2009 and I would rather have colors controlled by the lights in max than in the shader. If you need change this in the shader code, please tell me where and how.
My second question is, what is the light shadow output for? Is it to do real time shadows? I tried multiplying the output of a light shadow with a diffuse texture, but in max I tried enabling viewport shadows on my light and the directx material didn't show any shadows. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
